Wake up!

In 2017, my journey took me to the serene landscapes of Scandinavia, a region known for its minimalist beauty, progressive societies, and deep connection to nature. The countries of Sweden, Norway, and Denmark offered a unique blend of tranquility and enlightenment that profoundly influenced my outlook on life. Sweden was my first destination, and Stockholm, its capital, immediately captured my heart. The city's archipelago, with its countless islands and waterways, was a breathtaking sight. Stockholm's blend of modernity and history was evident in its architecture, from the medieval Gamla Stan to the contemporary designs of Södermalm. The Vasa Museum, housing a 17th-century warship, provided a fascinating glimpse into Sweden's maritime history. One of the most enlightening experiences in Sweden was learning about the concept of "lagom," which translates to "just the right amount." Lagom is a way of life that emphasizes balance, sustainability, and mod...

Start over

By 2016, I sought solace and renewal in the tranquil beauty of Greece. After the emotional turmoil of the previous year, I needed a place that would offer peace and a fresh start. Greece, with its idyllic islands, ancient ruins, and warm hospitality, was the perfect destination. The country’s rich history and natural beauty provided a sanctuary where I could heal and rediscover joy. My journey in Greece began on the island of Santorini, known for its stunning sunsets and whitewashed buildings perched on cliffs overlooking the Aegean Sea. The serene beauty of Santorini was a balm for my weary soul. I spent my days exploring the island's charming villages, such as Oia and Fira, and my evenings watching the sun set over the caldera, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink. The simplicity and tranquility of life on the island helped me to slow down and appreciate the present moment. One of the most memorable experiences in Santorini was visiting the ancient site of Akrotiri, a Mi...

Italy's allure was irresistible, and I was eager to explore its storied cities and picturesque landscapes. From the ancient ruins of Rome to the Renaissance art of Florence and the romantic canals of Venice, Italy offered a feast for the senses. Rome, the Eternal City, was my first stop. Walking through the streets of Rome felt like stepping back in time. The Colosseum, an architectural marvel, stood as a testament to the grandeur of ancient Rome. As I stood within its massive structure, I could almost hear the echoes of gladiators and the roar of the crowds. The Roman Forum, once the center of public life, was equally fascinating. By 2013, my travels had led me to the City of Love – Paris. The romantic allure of Paris, with its iconic landmarks, charming cafes, and artistic ambiance, was undeniable. It was here that I met Marie, a beautiful and spirited artist who would change my life in ways I could never have imagined. Our first encounter was serendipitous. I was visiting the Musée d'Orsay, captivated by the works of Impressionist painters like Monet and Renoir. As I stood in front of one particularly mesmerizing painting, I noticed a woman sketching nearby. Her focus and talent were evident, and I couldn't help but strike up a conversation. Marie's passion for art was infectious, and we quickly found ourselves deep in conversation about our favorite artists and the magic of Paris. Marie introduced me to a side of Paris that I might never have discovered on my own. She took me to hidden art galleries, cozy jazz clubs, and quaint bistros where the food was as exquisite as the ambiance. We spent coun...

In 2012, at the age of 24, I made the momentous decision to embark on a journey through Europe. Fresh out of university and yearning for adventure and self-discovery, I felt a powerful urge to explore the world beyond the confines of my familiar environment. The idea of traveling across Europe was both exhilarating and daunting. I chose Spain as the starting point of my journey, drawn by its vibrant culture, rich history, and the warmth of its people. My adventure began in Madrid, the heart of Spain. As I stepped off the plane, I was immediately struck by the city's energy. The bustling streets, filled with a mix of modernity and tradition, offered a sensory overload. The Plaza Mayor, with its grand architecture and lively atmosphere, was my first stop. A man is made

2015 was a year marked by tragedy and profound loss. While traveling in Berlin, Germany, I received the devastating news of my father's sudden passing. The grief was overwhelming, and being far from home made it even harder to cope. Berlin, a city with a history of resilience and rebirth, became the backdrop for my journey through grief. Berlin's historical sites, which bore witness to immense suffering and remarkable endurance, provided a poignant context for my own experience of loss. The Berlin Wall, once a symbol of division and oppression, now stood as a testament to human resilience and the triumph of hope. Walking along the remnants of the wall, I reflected on the city's turbulent history and its journey towards reunification. The stories of those who had lived through the division and the eventual fall of the wall were inspiring and gave me strength. The Holocaust Memorial, with its stark and haunting architecture, was another place of reflection. The rows of conc...

14 YEARS IN THE MAKING....

Image
You read that right, it has been 15 years since I have posted anything. I know it's a very long time, but I've just been living life and not writing it down. But now I have some time to story tell and catch up.  Where to even begin? I'll start fresh, I'm a new man people might say, a young dad and loving husband. Two  achievements I'd never thought I would reach. Life was always too simple for me when I was young. I thought I knew most things and understood life. I write this now with full confidence : I DO NOT KNOW SQUAT!. Life is complicated, intertwined, hidden, powerful, lovely, ironic, dark, fun, sad, hectic and I could go on but I guess you get the idea. I've done a lot, seen a lot and I would like to say I learned a lot but daily I get a small dose of truth that somehow that didn't happen. I mean I have managed to understand certain aspects of my life but some have been on like a broken record that keeps on repeating. Somehow I think that'...
