The brighter side of the Balkans

  In 2020, my travels took me to the Balkans, a region known for its diverse cultures, complex history, and stunning landscapes. The Balkans offered a sense of adventure and discovery, with each country presenting unique experiences and challenges. From the rugged mountains of Montenegro to the historic cities of Serbia and the beautiful coastlines of Croatia, the Balkans were a place of exploration and excitement. Montenegro, with its dramatic landscapes and rich cultural heritage, was my first destination. The Bay of Kotor, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was a breathtaking sight. The fjord-like bay, surrounded by towering mountains, was a haven of natural beauty. I spent my days exploring the medieval town of Kotor, with its narrow streets, ancient churches, and fortified walls.
